Wings of despair
On 12 December 2013, Re1ikt and Hurma bands got “fresh” awards from Tuzin hitoŭ. Meanwhile, the statuette went through a long way of despair because of the domestic manufacturers

Do not hurry to criticize the Belarusian design! Actually, it is not that bad. However, there is a huge gap between the model and the final product...
We decided to develop a statuette for Tuzin.fm music awards. We had to create two awards – “Heroes of the year” and “Debut”. We decided to make a modern and fundamental model – we did not want to use porcelain at all. Power and simplicity at the same time +difference between the awards is expressed not by means of size but by means of colour.
Thus, we chose metal and glass (red one for winners and transparent one for “debutants”)

A model is a model; however, it did not materialize because for five days we were unable to find a manufacturer who would be able to bend a piece of metal in the corresponding way or make the same thing using glass. At first we did not believe it: was it really so hard to cut and weld it as well? It was, at least for Belarusian manufacturers.
We had nothing else to do but to make another model which resembled wings: power and endurance of metal and simplicity of engraving and flexibility.

When we sent the new model to the manufacturer for analysis, we faced a soviet-type problem: we have a lot of plants but we have no factories! Almost nobody wants to deal with small volumes...
Ok, we finally found a manufacturer. The metal was to be cut outside the city, the engraving was to be made in the city center, bending was to be made in the outskirts. Everybody promised to do everything promptly and the prices were quite high because the metal was two mm thick. As soon as we got the cut metal we had a feeling that we and the manufacturers lived in different dimensions. While people paint on Mars (!), our manufacturers are unable to bend two metal pieces and the most outstanding specialists engrave the same words on three statuettes: “Debut of the year – Hurma” O_o.
“Why did you do it?” – “You did not say anything!” was the response provided by homo sapiens who saw three models and engraved the same phrase on three statuettes
Anyway, at the last minute we had to cut acryl using a glue mixture, hid metal barbs and held our hearts during the presentation because the acryl could fall apart. This is the answer to the question why Hurma got a statuette with laser engraving and Re1ikt got a statuette with a “moon” and hand-made engraving...
Meanwhile, the statuette looks great in photos; although, it is not the one we would like to see. Therefore, do not hurry to criticize the Belarusian design!
