Rebranding for Belaruski Čas newspaper

Noble appearance for the newspaper about and for employees from the country’s trade unions

Due to the hard work of art studio PRAS, Belaruski Čas newspaper has finally got a new design after getting its website and corporate style. We started from the front page or even from the newspaper’s philosophy: the content has become clearly personalized. This is first of all shown by photos: now a working person and not an entity is the focus of attention.

From now on, pages of the Belarusian trade unions’ newspaper can be compared with Le Monde, Der Tagesspiegel, Der Zeit and we finally can be happy about our press

Materials on pages are split by “air”: free space increases not only the aesthetic level but also the readability of the edition. We ensured a distinct design for quotes on the white background and highlighted the analytical character of texts. We suggested using one big issue-related photo on one page instead of a big number of small images which distract readers’ attention. Three functions are performed at once: focusing readers’ attention, pleasing readers’ eyes (ours and editors’ as well) and emphasizing the new edition’s concept. Printed pages imitate a tablet’s/smartphone’s screen: everything is carefully and evenly structured; one may want to touch the screen and turn the page over. Alongside with that, we have not forgotten about people who will read the newspaper in public transport – it is easy to read after folding.

The edition has preserved its sections but we have also added some creativity here. Materials which have to inspire productive work are published in two-page section “Time to have a rest”. Stories about “Belarusian fitness” are placed in “Hits for gardeners” section. To tell the truth, we have applied the PRAS style even to the TV program.

To cut a long story short, Belaruski Čas has completely changed its appearance. While SB and other Belarusian “tabloids” look forward to the dim light of remote prospects, Belaruski Čas confidently makes its readers happy. Serious and hardworking people can now use their newspaper to demonstrate that they care about what they hold in their hands – they are interested in high quality and ideal press in all respects.
